Lori L. Cooper

Associate

Lori Cooper is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group of Leason Ellis, where she helps businesses on both sides of the “v” navigate the demanding and often unfamiliar process of litigation, from filing, through discovery, motion practice, and trial. She is experienced in guiding clients through proceedings in federal court and before the U.S Patent and Trademark Office. Lori also works with companies, large and small, to conduct pre-suit investigations and negotiate resolutions prior to full-fledged litigation. Her experience includes handling patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret matters in a variety of industries including fitness, clothing, cryptocurrency, consumer goods, construction equipment, pharmaceuticals, and large and small electronics.

With an education rooted in the sciences, Lori is a problem solver drawn to innovation. In and out of the office, Lori enjoys a good research project with results – from analyzing the strength of various legal claims to DIY renovation and soap making. Intellectual property law provides her with the opportunity to use her knowledge, skills, and creativity to provide effective and efficient solutions for clients. Lori holds a B.S. in Chemistry (Polymer Track) from the University of North Carolina and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She also regularly maintains publications for Practical Law on advertising law in the U.S.
