Audrey E. Trace

Associate

Audrey Trace is an associate in the Trademark and Copyright and Litigation Practice Groups at Leason Ellis, where she handles trademark prosecution matters as well as quasi- and pre-litigation matters. Her practice focuses on enforcing, protecting, and defending clients’ trademark, trade dress, copyright, and related intellectual property rights. She regularly assists clients with trademark clearance, monitoring, and enforcement across a range of forums, including in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Her experience includes handling trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings and domain name disputes under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), as well as advising clients in connection with enforcement strategies, negotiation, and related disputes. Audrey has worked with brand owners across a variety of industries, including software and technology, artificial intelligence (AI), entertainment, automotive, beauty and cosmetics, and medical devices.

Audrey is passionate about building community within the legal profession and beyond, with a particular interest in advocacy, leadership, and fostering meaningful professional and personal connections. Indeed, Audrey is actively involved in the intellectual property community at the local, national, and international levels. She participates in organizations including the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (NYIPLA), the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA), the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Connecticut Intellectual Property Law Association, and an IP-focused U.S. Inn of Court (the Judge Janet Bond Arterton Inn). She serves as Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the NYIPLA, Chair of the Women in Law Young Lawyers Section of the CBA, and Vice President of the Judge Janet Bond Arterton Inn of Court.

Audrey received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in history (cum laude), from the University of Florida in 2018, and her Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law in 2021, where she earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property.
