Manhattan Hosiery Company, Inc. v. Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios Inc. (Case No.: 1:22-cv-00652)
In a federal lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM) claimed infringement of its ROCKY trademark from the movie franchise by Manhattan Hosiery's use of the brand ROCKY for socks, underwear, and other personal garments. Efforts at mediation were stalling and the case was moving forward with extensive discovery. At the last moment, we were brought in by the client as co-counsel in an effort to resolve the case. With our assistance and advice, the case settled after a half-day mediation.
