Overview
Tatsuya Adachi served as appellate counsel for a visual artist in a copyright appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit addressing the scope of the fair use defense. The Fourth Circuit reversed the district court’s fair use summary judgment ruling and remanded for further proceedings. The decision was recognized by Law360® as one of the most notable copyright rulings of 2019. The case is Brammer v. Violent Hues Productions, LLC, et al., 922 F.3d 255 (4th Cir. 2019)
