Cha Hyung (Catherine) Kim is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group of Leason Ellis, where she focuses on complex intellectual property litigation including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. Her practice focuses on pharmaceutical, chemical, and biology-related patents, as well as other technology-related matters. Catherine also has experience assisting clients with IP transactions in the life sciences industry, including negotiating licensing agreements and technology-driven M&A transactions.

Catherine finds fulfillment in helping the development of science and technology through her legal practice, which led her to focus her career on intellectual property. Catherine has litigation experience involving pharmaceutical, chemical, and material sciences patents, including discovery and motion practices. She also served as a judicial intern in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit for the Honorable Jimmie Reyna for one semester during her law school. She received her J.D. from Cornell Law School and Yonsei University Law School (in South Korea) and her B.S. in chemistry from Pohang University of Science and Technology.
