Michelle Dorman and Sergey Lysenko have teamed up to write an article about use requirements in Mexican trademark law. Any mark in Mexico that has not been used for three years from registration may become vulnerable to cancellation by a third party. As a result, many Mexican trademark lawyers recommend filing a declaration every three years stating that use of the mark has not been interrupted. The article, published in the World Intellectual Property Report of Bloomberg BNA on March 1, 2012, 26 WIPR 24, examines whether such declarations are worthwhile filing.
