Tatsuya Adachi is a trial lawyer skilled in litigating intellectual property disputes concerning copyrights and trademarks. Tatsuya’s approach to litigation is tactical and disciplined, grounded in the view that timing and effective case management can shape case outcomes well beyond the merits of a claim or defense. Tatsuya approaches client representation with an empathetic, pragmatic perspective, aligning legal strategy with each client’s business, personal, or creative objectives. He does not litigate in a vacuum. He treats litigation as a tool to advance these broader goals. Outside the courtroom, Tatsuya leverages his intellectual property expertise to counsel clients in connection with IP protection strategies, IP transactions, including acquisitions and licensing, and online liability issues involving third-party content, including user generated content, and intermediary liability.
Tatsuya is a former professional singer whose legal acumen is complemented by his passion for the arts and, more broadly, creativity and innovation. Super Lawyers® has named Tatsuya to its Rising Stars list every year since 2021. Tatsuya is a member of the Associate Board of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing pro bono legal services and legal education to individuals and organizations in the arts community. Tatsuya earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal and received a Jacob Burns Medal.
