PATENT ELIGIBILITY

In response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decisions in AMP v. Myriad Genetics, 569 U.S. 12-398 (Jun. 13, 2013) and Mayo v. Prometheus, 566 U.S. 10-1150 (March. 20, 2012), the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued a memorandum on March 4, 2014, providing a guideline for determining the subject matter eligibility of patent claims related to nature, natural phenomena and natural products.
