WHITE PLAINS, NY – Leason Ellis LLP has announced that clients will be offered free, secure Web-based access to their intellectual property portfolios as part of the new law firm’s industry-best approach to service.

The firm was founded in White Plains in late March 2008 by Mr. Leason and Partner Edward J. Ellis.
Mr. Leason, formerly a Principal in the Manhattan office of Darby & Darby, P.C., has a diverse intellectual property law practice, handling patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition matters for a wide variety of clients. He has served clients that range in size from Fortune 100 companies to mid-sized companies, startups, and technology and venture capital firms. In addition to a J.D. degree, Mr. Leason has an M.S.E. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas and a B.S.E. from Duke University based on a dual-major in electrical engineering and computer science.
Mr. Ellis, former Senior Counsel at Darby & Darby, specializes in domestic and foreign patent procurement, evaluation and related client counseling, with particular emphasis in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical processes arts, as well as in the field of design patents. He also has substantial experience in USPTO post-grant proceedings. Mr. Ellis has also held positions at Vista Scientific and Exxon Chemical Co. His J.D. is from Franklin Pierce Law Center.
