Thrift 2 Fight, based in Tivoli, New York, is a volunteer-run, community-centered retail shop which donates 100% of its sales to organizations centered on racial, social, and climate justice activism. When it was looking for legal assistance, it turned to HV Mentors, which pairs Hudson Valley based, growth-oriented entrepreneurs of all sizes with professional mentors. HV Mentors matched the non-profit with our own Elizabeth Barnhard. According to the September 2021 newsletter at link, Elizabeth explained differences in legal needs, gave clear cost estimates, laid out expectations, and provided connections to other attorneys who have worked with start-ups. Masha Zabara, the founder and CEO of Thrift 2 Fight, said the following of her experience with Elizabeth: “Having a trusted professional who understands entrepreneurs, guiding you through the process is invaluable.”
