On November 30, 2023, the United States Patent and Trademark Office retired its longstanding search database in favor of a new cloud-based search system. The new system is a stark departure from the old one as it uses entirely new search terms and syntax. Members of the Trademark Office Practices Committee’s U.S. Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association (INTA), including our own Audrey Trace, have compiled a list of tips and tricks in an article to help INTA members refine their search strategies and navigate the new system.
