WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK - Michael J. Sweedler, a renowned patent attorney, is joining Leason Ellis LLP, the largest IP law firm based in White Plains, the county seat of Westchester County, New York. Michael was previously with Darby & Darby P.C., one of the oldest intellectual property firms in the world.
Michael specializes in the procurement, analysis and litigation of patents involving diverse technologies involving telecommunications, medical devices and food products. Over the years, he has represented clients including such well known companies as Wyeth, C.R. Bard, The Topps Company and Nokia.
Michael prosecutes patents for leading manufacturers of electrical equipment and medical devices. He also provides opinions on infringement and/or validity of patents involving complex electronic and mechanical technologies, and he has served as an expert witness. In litigation matters, Michael has obtained a judgment in favor of the plaintiff on a patent covering the basic electrode used in fetal monitoring. He was also lead counsel for a major pharmaceutical company in a false advertising case and for a manufacturer of cellular telephones in a case before the International Trade Commission.
